Getting to Mt Hotham

Eiger Ski Club is located in the heart of Mt Hotham, just a short walk from Bus Stop 8. Whether you’re travelling by car, coach or plane, getting here is easy with a little planning.

By Car:

The drive from Melbourne to Mt Hotham takes approximately 4.5 to 5 hours via the Hume Freeway and the Great Alpine Road through Harrietville and Dinner Plain.

During the snow season, always check the latest road conditions before you leave. Snow chains must be carried during the declared snow season and may need to be fitted depending on conditions. We recommend allowing extra travel time during weekends and school holidays.

By Bus or Coach:

Several coach services operate between Melbourne, Albury and Mt Hotham throughout the snow season. Coaches stop within the village, making it easy to access Eiger Ski Club via Bus Stop 8.

We recommend booking your coach well in advance during peak periods.

Arrival & Parking

When you arrive at Mt Hotham, head to Bus Stop 8 where you’ll find a designated loading zone. You can park here briefly while you unload your luggage.

Eiger Ski Club is located across the children’s snow play area, slightly to the right at the top of the stairs. A luggage cart is available outside our lodge to help transport your bags.

If you would prefer not to carry your luggage, a snow tow service is available for a fee. You can book in advance at Snow Monkey.

Once you have unloaded your luggage, please move your vehicle to the overnight parking area beyond Bus Stop 9. The free Village Bus operates throughout the day and will return you to Bus Stop 8.

Please do not leave your vehicle in the loading zone longer than necessary, as it is shared by all guests arriving in the village.

Before You Travel

Before leaving home we recommend you:

  • Check the latest weather and road conditions.
  • Carry snow chains if travelling during the snow season.
  • Allow extra travel time during weekends, holidays and after fresh snowfall.
  • Contact the lodge if you expect to arrive outside standard check-in hours.

Getting Around

The free Village Bus operates throughout the resort during the snow season and provides convenient access between accommodation, car parks, ski lifts and village facilities. It’s the easiest way to get around once you’ve arrived.
