How to Get to Eiger Ski Club at Mt Hotham
Eiger Ski Club is located at one of Australia’s premier ski destinations, Mt Hotham. Whether you’re heading up for a winter ski adventure or a summer hiking trip, reaching our lodge is straightforward with the right directions. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey to our premium alpine accommodation.
By Car:
For those driving from Melbourne, the journey to Mt Hotham takes approximately 4.5 to 5 hours. From Melbourne, follow the Hume Highway (M31) north, then take the Great Alpine Road (B500) which will lead you through picturesque towns such as Harrietville and Dinner Plain before you arrive at Mt Hotham.

Key Points to Remember:
Winter Driving: During the winter months, snow chains may be required on certain sections of the road, particularly if there’s significant snowfall. Be sure to check road conditions before you travel, and always carry snow chains if you’re driving in winter.
Parking: Once you arrive at Mt Hotham, there is designated parking available for lodge guests. Parking is conveniently located near our lodge, so you won’t have to walk far to check in. Please note that parking may be limited during peak times, so it’s recommended to arrive early, especially during ski season.

By Bus or Coach:
If you prefer not to drive, several coach services operate from Melbourne to Mt Hotham, offering a comfortable and hassle-free journey. The coaches provide a direct route to Mt Hotham, and from there, you can take a short transfer to Eiger Ski Club. Check with coach operators such as Falls Creek Coachlines or Alpine Coaches for availability and booking details.
By Air:
For those flying in, the nearest airport to Mt Hotham is Albury Airport (ABX), located about 2.5 hours away. From Albury, you can take a coach or arrange a private transfer to the resort. Alternatively, Melbourne Airport (MEL) is approximately 4.5 hours away by car and provides a wider range of flight options.
Getting Around Mt Hotham
Mt Hotham is a unique alpine village with its own network of shuttle buses that make it easy to get around the resort. These buses run throughout the day and will transport you from the car parks to various points of interest, including the lodge. If you prefer, you can also use the resort’s taxi service for direct transfers to Eiger Ski Club.
